The rarely seen GPO PERTH ‘Perfin’ at SWANPEX 96, in Western Australia. The body of the stamps were perforated in the shape of a SWAN & WA, before being applied to a special envelope show cover.
No MNH examples were perforated.
The 2004 Ghan to Darwin issue, was commemorated with beautifully illustrated covers of the inaugural train journey from Adelaide to Darwin & return.
The super rare 30c NPC issue was specially printed by Australia Post, for the Sydney 95 Stamp Show, to support the 75c airmail postage rate to New Zealand.
Historically, denominations below the standard postage rate were not authorised by Australia Post.
In 1995, the standard postal rate was 45c.
